• Physical Appearance

You would need to decide if the appearance of the donor is a major concern for you and your partner. Most intended parents are seeking for the egg donor who have similar physical features as their but please remember that your baby will have partner’s genes and not necessarily that child will look like an egg donor. You can ask for donor childhood photos to be provided by the program coordinator that can make your selection easier.

• Personality

You can gain a sense of the donor’s personality via her profile. You can get to know about her hobbies, talents, etc. If you feel that you would like to know more about your egg donor, please feel free to ask some additional questions to your program coordinator who can collect the information for you

• Blood Type

It is good idea to match your blood type with the donor’s .The donor blood type is usually provided in her profile. If it is missing, please feel free to request such information before finalizing the donor candidate for your program.

• Genetic Screening

Some egg donors are usually screened for basic genetic disease. If your preferred egg donor has not undergone screening for genetic disease and it is not part of company’s standard protocol, you can request such screening for some additional fee. Please talk to your coordinator about screening options, especially if you have some genetic disease history in your family.

• Donation History

Proven is a donor who has undergone through the egg donation process once or several times already. Selecting a proven egg donor can be reassuring for some intended parents because the donor has already completed the process and the outcomes are known.Although, having proven egg donor does not guarantee success since we are dealing with a human body that may react to medical stimulation in various ways.
