Separation anxiety is babies' common and normal fear of being away from their parents or people who take care of them. The behavior that might be expressed when babies are separated from parents is sometimes called "separation protest." Babies from about six or eight months can remember you when you are not around because they gain sense of object permanence. Separation anxiety reaches its peak in 14-18 month-old babies.They may cry because they want you. Sometimes babies will wake up at night or will be harder to put to bed as they miss you and don’t understand you always come back.
