Tubal ligation is surgical procedure that prevents pregnancy. The procedure prevents the egg and male sperm from connecting as in a tubal ligation, fallopian tubes get blocked or even cut. Usually done at the hospital, the surgery requires anesthesia. It is important to note that tubal ligation is a permanent birth control. It can be reversed (fallopian tubes can be unblocked) by another surgery, however, the chances to get pregnant are lower compared to those who had never gone through tubal ligation.
