Georgia has been listed among the countries that  get rare plaudits for fighting against new Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19).  The pandemic significantly affected health industries, economy, international travel and daily life of every single individual. Even world leading states are struggling to contain the fatalities and spread of the virus. As Georgia (the country) is successfully tackling the pandemic, World Health Organization (WHO) positively assessed the preventive efforts Georgia is making.

The measures taken by the country include the introduction of rapid coronavirus tests, launch of the hotline and website, restrictions imposed on indoor as well as outdoor mass gatherings, thorough examination and mandatory quarantine of international travelers, declaring temporary state of emergency, domestic production of face masks, safety rules imposed on grocery stores/pharmacies and so on.

As of today, Georgia has 252 confirmed Coronavirus cases out of which 63 have recovered and 3 cases had fatal outcome.  All deceased were elderly with underlying health conditions.
