4. Are there any government restrictions imposed on surrogacy due to COVID-19?
No! At the beginning of the pandemic, the Georgian government imposed some restrictions on notarial activities with regards to international surrogacy and IVF, however the restrictions have been lifted and they are no longer in force. Click here to learn more.
5. Should my partner and I wait to start our surrogacy journey before the pandemic is over?
This is a decision that only you can make. Unfortunately, no one can predict when the pandemic will end. In our office as well as in the hospitals, we are doing our best to follow safety rules in order to prevent spread of the virus. If you are wary of beginning the process now,we would be happy to discuss the steps you can take.
6. Are there any restrictions on international flights from/to Georgia?
First, you should know that international intended parents do not have to travel to Georgia to sign surrogacy contracts. Instead they can mail an apostille power of attorney, authorizing surrogacy agency staff to sign on behalf of them.
